Us or Them?

Watching the way the political drama unfolded in Karnataka few months ago and the manner in which the representatives of the people articulately perched themselves on political branches and tried hard not to fall whilst others tried their best to do otherwise, it made me wonder as to what the electorate sees in such people when they cast their valuable votes, nothing i presume; or maybe they do not understand anything more than having their basic needs fulfilled for some momentary time, and beyond which they may not care much to what occurs later.

The state of politics in Karnataka went to a dismayed low, and the news channels were going gaga over, as their ratings soared and the prime time ads were raking in good enough benefits. The disqualifications, governor trying to sauté it with extra slices of not so good flavors, i wondered as to why the Tax payer should bear the expenses to be incurred for this unsavory being dished out.

Why should not those who use their powers to disqualify a representative on some ground or the other not pay for a re-election in such vacant constituencies? why should such representatives who swing from one olive branch to another not be made to pay for such re-elections. I wonder why we only need to pay every time.

Well, if you patronize an unhealthy food, you sure would require to' do it yourself' later to shed the layers of extra fat gained. Why blame the chef when you keep patronizing his dis-tasteful dish. To change the Chef don't patronize him.

Change is needed, the question is in whom? Us or Them?
